Lead

The performance titled "I" is one of the artist's most recent works, delving into the philosophical concepts of birth, death, reincarnation, and Karma through the expressive art form of Butoh, a Japanese dance. The play artfully portrays the journey of two creatures from birth, their experiences and choices throughout life, and conveys the artist's personal beliefs about the cycle of life and death, as well as the karmic consequences of one's actions in this life on future incarnations.

“Holy & Hilarious” (2023)

Stand Up

In "Holy & Hilarious," I reflect on my experiences as a homosexual person growing up in a religious household. I explore and communicate my experience via a sarcastic, colourful persona, emphasising paradoxes and hypocrisies. I discuss my own path of self-acceptance and strength, as well as experiences about negotiating my sexuality in a religious atmosphere and life in general. "Holy & Hilarious" is a thought-provoking and amusing comedy adventure that realistically mixes sass, flamboyance, and religion.

"Blind who now has eyes" (2023)

Actor

Written by Scott Payne, "Blind Who Now Has Eyes" is a fresh take on the time-honored Shakespearean drama "Oedipus," which was adapted by Payne. Payne reimagined the story of Oedipus, who unwittingly committed patricide and married his mother, within the setting of a 1980s police station, infused with the stylings of Film Noir. He drew inspiration for this reimagining from the distinctive office-style architecture of Furnival, a building that was constructed during the 1970s and 1980s.

"Quad" (2022)

Lead

Four characters who are depicted as following individual paths around a square. These characters are each assigned a unique color and sound, adding a sensory element to their portrayal. While the script lacks detailed information about their behaviors, it emphasizes their physicality. Beckett himself recommended ballet training or individuals with excellent physical conditioning for these roles, as he recognized the importance of physicality in portraying the characters. Notably, the performance was ultimately presented and directed by Andra, a second-year student at Middlesex University.

"When the rain stops falling" (2022)

Lead

Andrew Bovell's "When the Rain Stops Falling" is a captivating drama that dives into family relationships, love, and the lasting affects of the past. The non-linear structure of the play and its interwoven episodes provide a fascinating challenge for performers and directors to deal with.  The storyline brilliantly weaves themes of abandonment, grief, betrayal, and intergenerational trauma, while the beautiful language and finely created characters create a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience. The drama inspires audiences to reflect on the intricacy of human connections and the far-reaching consequences of our actions.

"Doll's House" (2021)

Lead

“In my first year of university our theatre group put on a fascinating production of Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House." With a subtle performance, the accomplished ensemble brought the characters to life, reflecting the nuances of the relationships and emotions conveyed in the play. The production's basic set design and evocative lighting and projection provided depth and created a visually spectacular experience. The impressive performances and intriguing subjects captured the audience, stimulating debates and observations long after the lights went down. It was an unforgettable performance that highlighted the ability and ingenuity of our university's developing theatre group.  "A Doll's House" explores issues like as gender roles, marriage, society expectations, and personal autonomy, eventually calling into question the time's established conventions and challenging the audience's notions of gender and cultural norms.

“Funeral of the year” (2021)

Lead

In their unique artistic endeavor, the individual conducted a personal experiment known as "funeral of the year" which was transformed into a thought-provoking performance. Throughout the year of 2021, the performer diligently recorded one second of their daily life, and in 2022, the performance titled "Funeral of the Year" was presented. This visually captivating showcase served as a reflection of their experiences in 2021. Despite being a small segment of the performance, the "funeral" part of the show served as a plot twist, where the individual ultimately erased all the recorded footage, adding a poignant conclusion to their artistic expression.
